Taper Bore ANSI #41 Sprocket

De Taper Bore ANSI #41 sprocket features a tapered hub bore for rapid, tool-minimal installation and removal — the go-to solution for drives requiring frequent maintenance or seasonal changeovers. Available in single and hardened-teeth variants to ANSI B29.1, it prevents shaft damage during removal and dramatically reduces sprocket-change downtime in Australian agricultural, conveyor, and processing applications.

Key Features & Advantages

Rapid Installation & Removal Taper bore design allows sprocket installation in minutes without heating or pressing — ideal for scheduled maintenance windows and seasonal changeovers on agricultural equipment.
Shaft Protection Unlike interference-fit designs, the taper system releases cleanly without risk of shaft damage, scoring, or keyway deformation during removal.
Hardened Tooth Option Available with induction-hardened teeth (HRC 50–60) for demanding applications where rapid bushing removal must coexist with maximum tooth durability.
Standard Bush Compatibility Accepts industry-standard 1008, 1210, 1610, and 2012 taper bushes — universally available in Australia from multiple suppliers.

Compatibility & Selection

The taper bore ANSI #41 sprocket requires a matching taper bush (1008, 1210, 1610, or 2012 — depending on tooth count and bore diameter). The bore range is determined by the bushing selected. Selection rule: choose the bushing size that accommodates your shaft diameter within the listed bore range, then select the sprocket tooth count for your drive ratio. Vanliga frågor

►  Do I need to order the taper bush separately?
Yes. The sprocket and taper bush are supplied separately. Specify your shaft diameter and we will recommend the correct bush size and part number.
►  Is the taper bore #41 sprocket backward-compatible with a standard bore #41 sprocket?
The tooth profile and drive ratio are identical. You can replace a plain-bore sprocket with a taper-bore version on the same shaft — you will need to machine or purchase the appropriate bushing.
►  What is the removal procedure for the taper bush?
Thread the jack bolts into the release holes on the bushing flange and tighten evenly — the taper releases cleanly without any hammering or heat. This protects both the shaft and the sprocket bore.
►  Can I get these in stainless steel with a taper bore?
Yes, for ISO-series taper bore stainless sprockets. ANSI stainless taper bore is available as a custom order — contact us for lead time and pricing.
►  Are hardened-tooth versions available in all sizes?
Hardened-tooth taper bore versions are available for the major ANSI sizes. Confirm availability for specific tooth counts with our sales team.
  1. Insert taper bush into the sprocket hub — bush and bore must both be clean and dry.
  2. Slide the assembly onto the shaft to the required position.
  3. Hand-tighten the hub bolts evenly in sequence, progressively drawing the taper into the hub bore.
  4. Apply final torque to bush bolts as specified on the bush body (typically 5–30 Nm depending on bush size).
  5. Align with driven sprocket; install chain; set tension to 2–3% slack-side sag.
