Key Features & Advantages
| ⚡ | Rapid Installation & Removal | Taper bore design allows sprocket installation in minutes without heating or pressing — ideal for scheduled maintenance windows and seasonal changeovers on agricultural equipment. |
| ️ | Shaft Protection | Unlike interference-fit designs, the taper system releases cleanly without risk of shaft damage, scoring, or keyway deformation during removal. |
| Hardened Tooth Option | Available with induction-hardened teeth (HRC 50–60) for demanding applications where rapid bushing removal must coexist with maximum tooth durability. | |
| Standard Bush Compatibility | Accepts industry-standard 1008, 1210, 1610, and 2012 taper bushes — universally available in Australia from multiple suppliers. |
Compatibility & Selection
The taper bore ANSI #41 sprocket requires a matching taper bush (1008, 1210, 1610, or 2012 — depending on tooth count and bore diameter). The bore range is determined by the bushing selected. Selection rule: choose the bushing size that accommodates your shaft diameter within the listed bore range, then select the sprocket tooth count for your drive ratio. FAQ
- Insert taper bush into the sprocket hub — bush and bore must both be clean and dry.
- Slide the assembly onto the shaft to the required position.
- Hand-tighten the hub bolts evenly in sequence, progressively drawing the taper into the hub bore.
- Apply final torque to bush bolts as specified on the bush body (typically 5–30 Nm depending on bush size).
- Align with driven sprocket; install chain; set tension to 2–3% slack-side sag.
