Stainless Steel ISO 10B-1 Sprocket (SS304)

The Stainless Steel ISO 10B-1 sprocket (5/8″×3/8″) in AISI 304 (SUS304) stainless steel delivers full corrosion resistance for food processing, pharmaceutical, marine, and chemical environment applications. Precision-hobbed to ISO 606 / DIN 8187 standards, it eliminates rust-contamination risk, withstands frequent high-pressure washdowns, and maintains dimensional accuracy throughout its extended service life.

Key Features

Full SS304 Corrosion Resistance
18% chromium / 8% nickel austenitic stainless eliminates rust risk in wet, chlorinated, or acidic processing environments — no surface coating that can chip or peel.
Food-Safe Material
AISI 304 stainless is approved for direct food contact by FDA, EU 10/2011, and Australian FSANZ standards. Safe for CIP (clean-in-place) chemical sanitation protocols.
High-Pressure Washdown Rated
Withstands daily high-pressure (up to 100 bar) hot-water washdowns without dimensional change, corrosion, or surface degradation.
Wide Temperature Range
Maintains structural integrity and dimensional accuracy from cryogenic (–196°C) to 400°C operating temperatures — suitable for freezing tunnels and cooking equipment.

Customer Reviews

“SS304 10B sprockets have been running on our meat-processing conveyor for 14 months without a single rust spot. The previous carbon-steel sprockets corroded within 3 weeks.”

FAQ

►  Is SS304 suitable for all food processing environments?
SS304 is suitable for most food processing applications. However, for high-chloride environments (brine, seawater, or hypochlorite sanitisers above 200 ppm), consider SS316 (available on request), which offers superior chloride pitting resistance.
►  Can you supply material test certificates (MTCs)?
Yes. Material test certificates (EN 10204 3.1 or 2.2) confirming chemical composition and mechanical properties are available with each order on request.
►  Do stainless sprockets require lubrication?
Yes. While SS304 is corrosion-resistant, the chain itself still requires lubrication to prevent fretting wear. Use NSF H1 approved food-grade chain lubricant for food contact zones.
►  Is the tooth hardness lower than carbon-steel sprockets?
Yes. SS304 cannot be induction-hardened to the same level as C45. Tooth hardness is approximately HRB 90–96 (HRC 18–22 equiv.). For heavy-load applications requiring high tooth hardness, consider C45 with dacromet coating or SS316L hardfaced option.
►  What is the minimum order for custom tooth counts?
MOQ for custom stainless tooth counts is 10 pieces. Lead time is typically 3–4 weeks for non-stock sizes.
  1. Clean all contact surfaces; avoid carbon-steel tools that may embed iron particles and cause surface rust.
  2. Use stainless fasteners (A2 or A4 grade) to avoid galvanic corrosion at fastener points.
  3. Align sprockets; install stainless or SS-compatible roller chain.
  4. Lubricate with NSF H1 food-grade chain oil before initial start-up.
  5. Inspect for any chain elongation or tooth wear every 500 hours; replace chain before sprocket shows hook-tooth wear profile.
