Yes. The sprocket and taper bush are supplied separately. Specify your shaft diameter and we will recommend the correct bush size and part number.
► Is the taper bore #80 sprocket backward-compatible with a standard bore #80 sprocket?
The tooth profile and drive ratio are identical. You can replace a plain-bore sprocket with a taper-bore version on the same shaft — you will need to machine or purchase the appropriate bushing.
► What is the removal procedure for the taper bush?
Thread the jack bolts into the release holes on the bushing flange and tighten evenly — the taper releases cleanly without any hammering or heat. This protects both the shaft and the sprocket bore.
► Can I get these in stainless steel with a taper bore?
Yes, for ISO-series taper bore stainless sprockets. ANSI stainless taper bore is available as a custom order — contact us for lead time and pricing.
► Are hardened-tooth versions available in all sizes?
Hardened-tooth taper bore versions are available for the major ANSI sizes. Confirm availability for specific tooth counts with our sales team.
- Insert taper bush into the sprocket hub — bush and bore must both be clean and dry.
- Slide the assembly onto the shaft to the required position.
- Hand-tighten the hub bolts evenly in sequence, progressively drawing the taper into the hub bore.
- Apply final torque to bush bolts as specified on the bush body (typically 5–30 Nm depending on bush size).
- Align with driven sprocket; install chain; set tension to 2–3% slack-side sag.
